Gaard One

Gaard One is a family owned start-up specializing in gear for the 21st century outdoor enthusiast. They are developing a number of modular, handy products under their slogan “Spend One, Gaard One, for each dollar a costumer spend on their products, one square foot of wildlife will be conserved.

As a Benefit Corporation, they believe in making an impact far beyond sales, and they want to do this mission through a measurable, relevant cause- something the community would be able to visualize and relate to. This designation legally defines them as a company with goals to include positive impact on society, the community or the environment, but how to demonstrate their values and mission to society? That was why our team came in to help them.

The creation of Gaard One was deeply inspired by our love for the great outdoors. While working to change the landscape of gear for the 21st-century outdoor enthusiast, Gaard One is dedicated to protecting and respecting the wilderness through conservation efforts.

Our team consists of five UX designers, began with a deep dive in all information related to corporation mission and goals, sales methods and target groups. 

Currently their main touchpoints with costumers are trade shows and website, we worked on expanding these touchpoint areas with a glance at their mission and declaration of being responsible for next generations of outdoor people. Through touchpoints that feed into one another, users are encouraged to build an ongoing relationship with the brand and its mission.

Outcome

All user touchpoints for Gaard One will help weekender families (different generations) to feel ownership and peace of mind, so that they are able to be active, informed stewards, we tried to do this by focusing on immersive experience and moments of wonder. Partnership with other foundation who have similar missions will accelerate the process through holding day out family or school tours.

The implementation roadmap will help corporation to get a clear vision of when what should be done to fulfill both their sale and ethical missions and how they can measure the results.
